Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo continued his stellar form for IF Elfsborg, scoring a pivotal goal in their 2-0 victory over HNK Rijeka, securing their progression in the UEFA Europa League qualification playoffs.

The Swedish side advanced with a 3-1 aggregate score after the decisive home match at the Boras Arena.

The match was tightly contested, with Elfsborg struggling to break through in the first half.

However, Baidoo's moment of brilliance came in the 68th minute following a tactical adjustment by the team.

He latched onto a perfectly timed pass from Swedish international Ahmed Qasem to break the deadlock and give Elfsborg the lead.

The second goal of the match came in the 83rd minute, with Qasem finding the back of the net to seal the victory and ensure Elfsborg's advancement to the next stage of the competition.

Baidoo, who played the full 90 minutes alongside fellow Ghanaian Terry Yegbe, has been in exceptional form this season.

With nine goals and six assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, his contributions have been crucial to Elfsborg's campaign, making him a key player as they continue their European journey.

Jalal Abdullai, another Ghanaian in the Elfsborg squad, was absent from the match due to suspension.

However, the team's depth and Baidoo's consistent performances have kept their ambitions alive in the Europa League.
