Asante Kotoko have officially parted ways with Michael Kyei Dwamena following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his two-season spell with the club.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2023, played a reliable supporting role in midfield during his time in Kumasi.
While not always a regular starter, Dwamena made meaningful contributions, particularly in cup competitions, and was lauded for his professionalism and composure on the ball.
His standout achievement came in the 2023/24 season, when he played a part in Kotoko’s MTN FA Cup triumph, earning a major piece of silverware with the club.
Club insiders confirm that the decision not to renew Dwamena’s contract was mutual, as Kotoko continue a squad restructuring process ahead of the 2025/26 season, which includes CAF Confederation Cup participation.
Now a free agent, Dwamena is expected to receive interest from both local and international clubs as he looks to progress to the next chapter of his career.
