The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Regional Capital, Michael Okyere Baafi has lauded the NPP's achievement in terms of road construction in Koforidua and its surrounding communities.

Addressing a press conference through the Constituency Directorate on his behalf, the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, also MP noted his outfit has been able to secure 32 km of roads which is still ongoing and should be completed by the close of the year 2023.

According to him, the NPP government over the years has shown good faith and a lot of commitment to developing New Juaben South, adding that ‘’we are so grateful to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo and my immense contribution in lobbying for numerous developmental projects for the constituency’’.

‘’I have also lobbied for an additional 8 km of roads to be constructed within the Municipality. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is important to note that many other constituencies are chasing these same contractors like Maripoma which is one of the biggest Construction Companies in West Africa. It is no surprise that Koforidua is seeing all these works done on its roads because the MP over the years has exhibited better inter-personal relationship and his lobbying skills is unmatched’’.

He said in December 2016, the principal street of Koforidua through to Effiduase was asphalted by John Mahama and the NDC government, and within 3 months, the same asphalted road had deteriorated.

It is only fair to say that, they should eat the humble pie and if not apologize, at least use the same medium to commend the NPP government and the Member of Parliament for seeing to the unprecedented facelift of Koforidua roads’’.

‘’Indeed, the good people of New Juaben South Constituency are grateful and they shall reward the NPP and the Member of Parliament come election 2024’’ he added.
