Chelsea signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille in the summer on a five-year contract. The 22-year-old Belgium striker, for a reported £33.2m joined after two years at the Stade Vélodrome.

Going by his price tag, the number of chances he has been given Antonio Conte seems absurd. To be honest the few times he has been given the look-in he has not taking his chances as he should.

At a club like Chelsea of course there will be fierce battle for places but at least one might expect him to debutise for the in form Diego Costa, the fact that he was over looked yesterday in the absence of Diego through suspension in the win over Bournemouth in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge might suggest that the young striker is out of favor with the Italian manager fueling speculations of a possible January transfer. After all the striker is yet to start a top-flight game for the Blues after 17 games of the new campaign.

Speaking to reporters after the Boxing Day win, Antonio Conte lauded the attitude of the striker since his arrival in England but warned that the forward must continue to work hard to prove himself at Chelsea. He urged the 22 year old to keep working hard and reiterated that he will get his chance soon.

Batshuayi began his career at Standard Liège and joined Marseille in the summer of 2014, scoring 15 goals in his first season. He took a step forward last season with 26, including 17 in Ligue 1 even as Marseille struggled to 13th in the table.
