Godfred Donsah a midfielder by trade was forced into the goalpost when his team Cercle Brugge were hit with an injury woe to their goalkeeper after all substitutions had been exhausted in a Belgian Jupiler Pro league game against Racing Genk on Saturday.

His excellent performance while in goal has been the talk of town in Belgium because he is a midfielder by trade but was able to keep a clean sheet during his time in goal as a keeper..

Cercle Brugge were put in an uncompromising situation when they were forced to make substitutions some of them injury enforced by the 60th minute.

First Alimani Gory was subbed off for Lyle Foster in the 13th minute before Johanna Omolo was substituted in the 19th minute for Lassana Coulibaly and then Jonathan Panzo was subbed off in the 60th minute for Rominigue Kouame.

Coach Bernd Storck had exhausted all his substitutions when goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert hobbled off with injury.

The goalie had to be rushed to the hospital with a bloodied face and a possible concussion and there was a decision to be made as one of the outfield players had to keep post for the team till the game ends

The Ghanaian midfielder after his exploits in the post revealed that while at Bologna he ocassionally practised as a goalkeeper.

He however revealed that his coached summoned three players of which one was to keep post and he decided to accept the mantle.

"I was never a goalkeeper, only occasionally after training at Bologna. But if necessary, I take my responsibility. The trainer called three players and I said I would do it," Donsah said.

""You have to be ready for every task you get", the midfielder explained.

His side were losing 2-1 when he was forced into the post but managed to keep a clean sheet with a massive clear out of the ball and also dealt very well with a dangerous cross.
