Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Aaron Oquaye, is set to be sworn in as acting President for the second time in less than a week tomorrow on January 27,2018.

The act has been neccessitated by the absence of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is scheduled to leave the country for Ethiopia to participate in the 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is also unavailable due to his ill health which has taken him to the UK for medical attention.

Professor Oquaye will be sworn in to run the affairs of the country in their absence as mandated by Article 60 (11) and (12) of the 1992 Constitution.

President Akufo- Addo will return on January 31, 2018 after passing through South Africa where he is expected to attend Hugh Masekela's funeral.

The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu told the House “We are required to sit at 8:30 in the morning and the meeting will not last for more than an hour and a half”,
