Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will make his long-awaited return to action in the upcoming game against Sheffield United on Monday.

The Black Stars deputy captain has been sidelined with an injury since October 2023, but after a period of rehabilitation, he has been declared fit and is set to feature in the squad for the match at Bramall Lane.

"Thomas Partey should be part of the squad on Monday," stated Arteta. "He had a session before the last game, now he’s done two or three sessions. It’s progressing well," he added.

Partey, who last appeared for Arsenal as a second-half substitute in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City, has faced a series of setbacks in his recovery process.

After sustaining a knock during Ghana's friendlies against the United States and Mexico, he encountered another setback just before the UEFA Champions League clash against RC Lens.

The 30-year-old midfielder also missed out on representing Ghana in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast earlier this year due to his ongoing recovery.

However, his imminent return will come as a significant boost for Arsenal as they look to bolster their midfield options for the remainder of the season.
