A member of the  National Democratic Congress(NDC)  in the Kwesimintsim Constituency,William Yenzu Quansah, has cast doubt on the  Party's chances of  securing the number of votes needed to clinch the seat from the NPP.

William Yenzu, popularly known as Bishop, says some party executives are gradually collapsing the party, making it seemingly impossible to amass the needed votes for both the party's presidential and parliamentary candidates to win.

He alleges that the involvement of some executive in the  act of 'chop chop' has contributed to  the party's  slumping image in the constituency, even when everything shows the NDC has "more credible" parliamentary candidate in the person of Archie Arthur.

"This party is collapsing because of people's selfish interest. I can tell you that the party, as far as this constituency is concerned,  is dying slowly. How can a party in power struggle to hold just a simple meeting in this constituency? Chop chop is collapsing this party, he fumed.

'The NDC may be looking very attractive in other parts of the country, but here in Kwesimintsim the story is totally different. Most of the youth do not want to associate themselves with anything NDC.

"Only  miracle can  win us  this seat because it is not going to be easy to snatch this seat from the NPP ,despite its failure to do anything beneficial to the constituents."

William  Yenzu  has also warned that the party may not be able to increase its vote size  in the constituency and has called on the national executives to act fast to avoid humiliation in the hands of the NPP.He said the party needs to more to ensure win more  votes for John Mahama to to retain power.

"I can't believe we are the party in power and I wonder if the executives here are really committed to maximizing votes for our Presidential candidate", he quizzed

"Since 2012 when we retained power, nothing has been done to make the party attractive to the youth of this community. We should be doing better than what we did last four years. But some people lack the commitment to be leading this party."

"Poor organisation of party functions has led to people having no zeal to continue being with the party.I m sorry to say the leadership in this constituent are not serious..The party foundation here is weak and in can tell you Kwesimintsim NDC  is on the brink of  collapse due to chop chop, selfishness and greed."

A credible candidate

The astute football administrator however believe the NDC  has a very formidable and a much more competent candidate in the person of  Archie Arthur when compared to NPP's  Joseph Mensah.

"Archie Arthur is the   best candidate we'v had so far.He is an indigene from this community and  a very  fine gentleman and more credible than than the NPP's Joseph Mensah. But theses qualities alone cant get us the needed votes,"he said.

"We should be doing things in a very well planned and strategic manner.Even the door to door campaign looks poorly organised. If you have parliamentary candidate who will embark on a door to door campaign with only two constituency members accompanying him, then you need no one to tell you the party is weak in this constituency"

The Kwesimintsim constituency is  one 0f the newly constituencies created in 2012 after the electoral commission decided to  separate it from the then Effia-Kwesimintsim constituency in the year 2012.
