Ghanaian football legend Mohammed Polo has showered praise on the current Ghana Football Association (GFA) under the leadership of Kurt Okraku, attributing the resurgence of football in the country to the administration's proactive policies.

Polo, a former Ghana international, hailed Okraku and his team for their remarkable efforts in revitalizing football across various levels, from grassroots development to the women's game.

"He has done tremendously well because there were huge expectations which brought a lot of tension on the GFA. This is one of the best GFA administrations I have ever seen," Polo remarked in an interview with Citi Sports.

Reflecting on the significant transformation under Okraku's tenure, Polo highlighted the administration's role in reviving football, which he described as previously "dead."

"I have been in the system and seen a number of the Ghana football administration, and this is one of the best which have come and improved Ghana football because football was dead," he emphasized.

Polo, who has experienced various GFA administrations over the years, expressed his admiration for the positive impact of Okraku's leadership, noting the tangible results beginning to manifest.

"Someone will say Nyantakyi’s time, but he had a crop of players who were dedicated, and that was the generation who couldn’t win the Afcon. They were quality but they couldn’t win," Polo reflected.

He continued, "Things were going from bad to worse, but this man, when he came, he was trying to put things in place but the result wasn’t coming. Fortunately, he’s got another term, and we are seeing the result."

Polo's commendation underscores the significant strides made under Okraku's stewardship, signaling a promising future for Ghanaian football under the visionary leadership of the current GFA administration.
