Okwahu united head coach Ibrahim Mariga believes he deserves to win the best coach of the upcoming MTN FA cup awards.

The Outspoken trainer, who led the "Asaase Aban" boys to the finals of the 2015/16 MTN FA Cup and ended as a runner-up told Kumasi based "Ashh Fm" on breakfast sport, he deserves to win the best coach of the season.

"I believe I have to win the award because as a first division team that has gone through all the difficulties in the MTN FA Cup defeating four premier league sides to reach the finals, which I believe Okwahu united should have won."

"I think passing through all these difficulties,I will be disappointed if I don't win the award." He lamented.

The former Okwahu united player who is competing against Manuel Zachariah of Bechem united, George Lamptey,Liberty professionals and coach of Wa Rockets J.K Fosu for the best coach of the season insisted he is the best to grab the ultimate.

"If you are to give the award, Zachariah and I who do you think deserves it ?, despite he winning the tittle,  our performance was better than Bechem united, definitely I deserve the award and will be disappointed if it goes contrary."

Mariga made a case for Abass Mohammed who is in contention for the promising player and best goalkeeper of the season.

"He is an upcoming player and if he wins the award I will not be surprised because of his good goal keeping performance."

Ibrahim Mariga won the MTN FA Cup as a player with Okwahu United but failed to repeat it as a coach.
