Over 52,000 Ghanaians have subscribed to the initial public share offering of telecommunication giant MTN two weeks after it was rolled out.

According to the Senior Manager, Marketing Planning Analytics, Guido Sopiimeh, 94% of the subscription has been done through MTN Mobile Money.

He reiterated that the response in terms of the usage of Mobile money is the first of its kind in the world and to have attracted the kind of response it has received so far is impressive.

"We are impressed about the response so far. The bulk of it [is] coming through Mobile money, which is the first channel of its kind in the world. We are happy Ghanaians have accepted this channel, said Guido Sopiimeh.

He made statements on the sidelines of the Volta regional launch of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) by MTN in Ho.

The General Manager of MTN business, Samuel Addo, stressed that MTN will continue to maintain its lead in the telecommunication industry in Ghana by delivering a bold digital world to delight customers, beyond finalizing the offer.

"In terms of business direction, you can rest assured that our chosen fields of voice, data, digital and mobile money will continue. And we can only assure our partners and customers that in pursuit of delivering the bold new digital world and we will make sure we delight our customers" said Samuel Addo.
