The Ashanti Regional Police PRO, ASP Godwin Ahianyor says investigations have begun into the gruesome killing of Otumfuo's Asamponhene, Nana Kwadwo Afoduo.

He has therefore urged the people of the region to remain calm, and promised that the Police will at the appropriate time address the general public on the unfortunate incident.

“We appeal with them to remain calm and give us all the necessary support to find the killers,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Nana Kwadwo Foduo’s body was found at the backseat of his Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle at Ebuom on the Ejura-Nkoranza Highway on Sunday evening with multiple stab wounds.

But for some church members who were returning from a convention, the body of the 46-year-old would have been burnt beyond recognition.

With the help of other motorists, the church members managed to extinguish the fire and raised an alarm before the police got to the scene.
