Captain of Ghana’s Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has said the disappearance of his friend; Castro has destroyed his music career which was budding when he was around.

Asamoah Gyan when Castro was alive produced some award winning songs and club bangers including African Girls, Do The Dance and Odo Pa which topped charts locally and internationally.

However, the footballer after the disappearance of the Highlife musician in 2013 has not been able to produce a single song.

Speaking to Accra-based Hot FM, the captain who came under immense criticism for customizing his armband during Ghana’s game against Ethiopia on Sunday said he had lost the edge and love for music since the disappearance of his friend.

He disclosed that he had recorded some songs with Castro which he will think about on whether to release them in the future. He, however, did not give timelines for the release of the songs.

Castro, who did not return from the boat cruise, is believed to have drowned in the Volta River alongside his female friend. Several efforts by national rescue and emergency services to find him were fruitless.
