The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba has called on the public to help weed out 'babies with sharp teeth' from radio to help sanitize the airwaves in the country.

Madam Djaba made this statement on an Accra based radio station today in commemoration of the World Radio Day which falls today, February 13.

She said,  “people with sharp teeth must be eliminated from radio. We must weed out the babies with sharp teeth from the radio to sanitize the airwaves”.

The Gender Minister defended her firm stance of not apologising to Former President Mahama for calling him wicked and evil on a campaign platform, adding that the former President is the one who owes the people of the North an apology for failing to improve the standard of living of the people up north with SADA.

She added that, her comments were made in an attempt to defend her people since she is in the position to do so.

“if I am unable to defend the people in the north, then why should I be in such position”. She stated.

She further threw shots at some Members of Parliament from the north who she claimed are of the notion that women should not be confident and bold, which said is bad and must be discouraged.

“Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and Alhassan Suhuni are from the north so they have that notion in them but I think it is wrong”, she added.
