Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has shared that she and fellow musician Fancy Gadam have reconciled following a disagreement between the duo in 2022.
Recall that after Sista Afia's 2022 concert in Tamale ‘flopped,’ she blamed it on his no-show due to him withdrawing from the line-up a week before the event despite having agreed to a GH¢50,000 fee.
Fancy Gadam explained his absence, stating it was not due to sabotage or fee issues.
He had agreed to perform for a reduced fee of GHC50,000 but faced payment delays and only received it 10 days before the event.
He said he had suggested postponing the concert for better promotion, especially since it coincided with Ramadan, affecting his largely Muslim fanbase's attendance.
However, the concert organizers did not agree to change the date. Concerned that inadequate promotion would lead to a poor turnout and harm his reputation, Gadam decided not to participate in the event.
Fast-forward to 2024, during an interview on the radio show Daybreak Hitz, which aired on Thursday, June 6, Sista Afia disclosed that any ill feelings towards Fancy Gadam have been put to rest, and the two have come to a mutual understanding.
“We are cool, we have squashed everything. We spoke on the phone and we agreed with ourselves. We have let go as humans because it had already happened,” she said.
She, however, did not promise any future collaborations between her and Fancy Gadam.
“I can’t promise I will be going up there again but let’s observe as the days progress. I am still in the industry, it might not be my show that might lead me there but let’s just observe and await God’s timing,” she added.
