Head coach of Kotoko's opponents WAFA, Prosper Narteh Ogum says that his game plan last Saturday as they managed to stifle Asante Kotoko at their own backyard.

He says his game plan wormed to perfection as they managed to equalize despite going down very early in the game.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko surrendered top spot to bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak after their lackluster 1-1 drawn game against WAFA.

The academy side proved a tough nut to crack for the league title hopefuls as their title ambitions suffered a big jolt.

Kotoko scored very early in the game just in the second minute after Francis Andy Kumi was hauled down in the penalty box after a through pass from Emmanuel Gyamfi for Abdul Ganiyu to slot home.

WAFA pulled parity on the stroke of half time through danger man Justus Torsutey to peg back the porcupine warriors.

“It was a game of end-to-end action and I think the intensity of the game was good especially from the side of my team," Ogum said after the game.

“Even though we conceded an early goal in the first minute but we kept the tempo very high.

“Because of that, we were able to wear the Kotoko off in the first leading to the equalizer.

“In the second half we kept to our team structure and organization and we were able to hold Kotoko because we knew they were going to come at us and so we decided to sit back and let them play so that we catch them on the counter.

“And you will realize that we were able to catch them most of the time but the last pass to the target player is sometimes incomplete.

“So on a whole I think with respect to my game plan it worked," he added.

WAFA will now play against their new tenants Liberty Professionals at the Sogakope Stadium while Kotoko play Aduana at Dormaa.
