It appears Kumasi Asante Kotoko are still suffering some hang over from last Sunday's 1-0 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak as they put up a limp display against King Faisal.

Head coach of the club Mariano Barreto has revealed that the porcupine warriors are still haunted by the 1-0 defeat handed them last week by bitter rivals Hearts of Oak.

It was dubbed the decided but a solitary goal from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh gave the phobians the win and the breathing space at the summit of the Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko over the weekend drew 1-1 with King Faisal after an insipid display from the porcupine warriors with the Portuguese trainer blaming it on the Hearts defeat lingering on the minds of his players.

King Faisal nearly caused a major upset which would have boosted their survival hopes as they drew first blood through lethal striker Zubairu Ibrahim in the 15th minute before Francis Andy Kumi pulled parity for the home side late in the game.

Speaking in a post match interview, the Portuguese coach revealed his boys are still affected by Heart's defeat but stated he will get them psyched up.

"I told you that after the Hearts result, it was difficult, now it’s harder and of course this gives more confidence for Hearts but now we have to be worried with ourselves not with Hearts because we have two matches and these two matches we have to try to win the last two matches because we have to finish according to how we want to finish."

“Not because we lost to Hearts so we have to give up because the fans don’t deserve and also the players.” Baretto said.

Kotoko will next play Bechem United away and then wrap up the season with a home game against Elmina Sharks.
