Father of Medeama SC midfielder Justice Blay says that his son will play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the upcoming season.

He says that he has been told by the President of Medeama SC, Mr Moses Armah Parker that his son has been transferred to Kotoko.

The defensive midfielder played for Kumasi Asante Kotoko on loan from Medeama in the truncated league season of 2019/2020 season but the two club failed to reach an agreement over a permanent move before the player played for his parent club in the just ended season.

Speaking in an interview with the players father Mr Jonh Blay on Kumasi based OTEC FM, he swept aside rumours that his son has quit playing football and says that he has even started training and his son will play for the Black Stars in the near future.

"I can say on record that my son (Justice Blay) will play for Kotoko next season because I asked Moses Packer and he told me that he has transferred my son to Kotoko which I have no problem about that," Mr. John Blay told OTEC FM

"It's never true that my son has quit football. Blay has started training, he even surprised everyone in a Monday special game so I'm surprised about such rumors"

"With his performance I saw, I believe very soon my son will be part of the Black Stars team again" He added

Justice Blay was ruled of action for between 2-3 months with a  fractured fibula after an injury sustained during a league game between Legon Cities and Medeama.

The midfielder was forced off just before the break on after he suffered the setback in the side’s 2-1 win over Legon Cities in the Ghanaian Match Day-20 top-flight fixture at the Akoon Park.

Scans at the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital revealed that the midfielder suffered a fracture of distal 1/3 of right fibula.
