The Coordinator for Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo), Dr. Ibrahim Anyars, has said that disabled people will be given special treatment in the NABCo employment recruitment.

According to him, all panel members that are assigned to partake in this activity are sensitized to the arrangement, and the sort of scoring sheets they have will permit them to indicate whether someone has a disability or not, adding that it will therefore provide the appropriate data to make the necessary arrangements for such people.

“In scoring people on the panel, it affects only gender and disability. Those living with disability get 2% scoring points ahead of every other person.” He said in an interview with Francis Abban on Morning Starr on Starr FM.

However, there has not been a fixed number of jobs reserved for people with disabilities because it will be difficult to determine the number of such persons that will go for the interview.

“We wouldn’t know the number of people with disabilities until we get the data from the interviews. So on the scoring sheet there’s a column to indicate if one has a disability or not. At the end of the process by the 27th of July, we would know then we can make provision for placement.” He said.

Dr. Ibrahim added that there is a gender provision as well considering the 55,000 females who have applied, so there will be allowances in terms of the scoring to give them the affordance to bring a certain priority among the two groups.

“An individual who is disabled and a female get a 3% scoring point ahead of any other person as well.” He said.

The NABCo is set to employ 100,000 people in these modules; Educate Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Civic Ghana, Digitize Ghana and Enterprise Ghana.

However, some modules will start before the others. Tentatively, work will start from the 5th of August.
