It has emerged that some journalists in the Eastern Region perceived to be pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) had their names inserted unto the payroll of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

These people who would soon be named by the current management of the disaster management organization in the region were paid monthly salaries for ostensibly helping to propagate the message of the NDC in the region.

Three of the unnamed journalist, Eastern Regional Coordinator of NADMO, Kwame Appiah Kodua said have so far been identified in an ongoing audit in the organization.

“Some of the persons are media men, so far we have identified three of them…,” he said on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Tuesday.

The National Chairman of the NDC, Kofi Portuphy, he alleged further also enlisted some private personnel working on his farm in the region unto the payroll of NADMO.

“As I speak, when you go to Kofi Portuphy’s farm, there are some guys working on the farm who are on NADMO pay roll…,” he alleged.

These disclosures came on the back of claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked many NADMO Coordinators that served during the Mahama administration to step aside.

The NADMO positions, critics of the government continue, have been given to the various regional and constituency organisers of the NPP.

Reacting to this allegation, Kwame Kodua said the NPP unlike the NDC would not be inserting the names of its footsoldiers and persons who work for the National Executives unto the payroll of government institutions.

He therefore promised that NADMO would by the end of the month, come public with the names of the journalists and the personnel on Kofi Portuphy’s farm who were withdrawing salaries from NADMO.
