General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has described as ‘perfect’ how President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s swearing in ceremony was organised.

According to him though the whole occasion was “best” in the history of the country, some blunders could have been avoided to fully beautify the ceremony.

“I believe some parts of the ceremony were excellent but some little mistakes nearly marred the program. The planning and organization was exceptional. In all, I will say is the best. The transitional process where a party is handing over power to the other was also the best.

“When Kufuor was handing over to Mills in those times, the transitional period saw some challenges but with this transition because the election was a one touch, the process was smooth and that made it the best” he noted on Accra based Neat fm.

Following years of struggle to take control of the presidency, the New Patriotic Party's Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has risen to the highest office of the land as he has been sworn-in as the fifth President in the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

The investiture of Akufo-Addo was the final and complete point of power transition from the John Mahama-led NDC government to the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration.

Scores thronged the Black Star Square to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Nana Akufo-Addo.

They include; President of Zambia, Edgar Lungu; Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo; Egypt President, Abdul Fattah el-Sisi and President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma.

Cote D’Ivoire President, Alssane Outtara was the designated guest of honour for the event.

The Chief Justice, Mrs Theodora Wood, administered the Presidential and Vice Presidential oaths to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia respectively.

But the chief scribe of the NDC believes Nana Addo’s posture during the oath was not the best.

“I think Nana Addo’s posture was not good because he was rushing some of the words being administered to him by the Chief Justice. I believe that wasn’t the best” he stated
