The victory of the New Patriotic Party  was divine and had nothing to do with the party's strategic electoral campaign or the  flag bearer's popularity, pastor Daniel Kyei Baffour has said.

The founder and chairman of the German-based Heaven Power Church has warned Ghanaian of the negative ramifications of turning away from the ways of God after listening to the "cry of the people."

Speaking to ghanaguardian.com from his base in the German city of  LübeckPastor  Kyei Baffour,  said  Nana Addo's victory  came  because  the cry for change was loudest and due to God's love for the country, he chose to listened to the voice of the people.

"The voice of the people is the voice of God and that is why he the almighty has listened to the cry of the people, many of whom were fasting and praying for change in Government. He loves Ghana and hence he answered the prayers,"he said.

"The victory of the NPP was divine and  has nothing to do with  the party's strategic electoral campaign or the  flag bearer's popularity."

"Yes, he has listened to us by giving victory to the NPP, the  which the  ruling NDC have accepted without any confusion like  it happens elsewhere. We cant claim to be more special than Ivory Coast or Gambia but he has given victory and has given us peace as well."

Pastor Daniel Kyei Baffour has also admonished Ghanaians to continue praying to God to continue showering his blessings on the country, instead of getting swayed by the  jubilation which might end up in acts of immorality.

"Let continue with what we did before the elections, let pray fervently like we did before and remember that the same God who  listened to our cry is still the same after the elections"

"Let not Ghanaians think it is  over and hence can go back  to our  sinful acts of fornication, binge drinking of alcohol. That is not the kind of thanksgiving we can give to God," he added.

The president-elect and officials of the party on Sunday held an  inter-denominational Christian Praise and Thanksgiving Service to thank God for the party’s victory in the just ended December polls.

It follows a similar service on Friday when the 72 year old Human Right lawyer  and his vice offered thanksgiving prayers at the Central Mosque with Chief Imam, Nuhu Sharubutu.

To Pastor Kyei Baffour, the country will  be a better place  if Ghanaians will support the president-elect with prayers and will  have the patience for him to deliver on his campaign promises.

"Nana Addo is a human and will need God direction to lead the country.Let all Ghanaians support him to deliver,", he added.
