Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum has sang the praises of Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the club Nana Yaw Amponsah.

He says that the young football administrator is an amazing CEO and has the patience to engage coaches as to what to do.

The Kotoko CEO appointed Prosper Nartey Ogum as the head coach of the club after finishing second in his first season.

When the appointment was made, critics were of the view  that the former UCC lecturer has very little  experience to manage a big team like Asante Kotoko.

But the CEO stuck with him and the club have lifted the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season with a relatively young squad.

‘‘He’s an amazing CEO. He takes his time to engage you as a coach with respect to what you have to do.  He also believes in reasons- Why we must do it this way and not that way. I think it has really helped,’’ Ogum told StarTimes in a post-match speech.

‘‘He is a distinguished gentleman, he knows his job as a CEO, he's more abreast with the modern trends in the game- I mean how to project a team like Kotoko to be compared to the likes Al Ahly, Zamalek and what have you. That’s his intention and that’s exactly what he’s doing.’’
Kotoko won the league title for the 25th time when they drew 1-1 with Ashantigold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in an outstanding league game.

On Sunday 12th June, 2022 Asante Kotoko handed a heavy 3-0 defeat to relegated Elmina Sharks in their Ghana Premier League match day 33 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday evening.

The coronation and trophy presentation was done before their last game of the season where a glittering trophy, 40 pieces of gold plated medals and a cheque with the sum of GHC250,000 was presented to the team.
