The Ghana National Security has stopped a group called Movement for Bawumia for embarking on a news conference in Kumasi.

The conference which was scheduled to have taken effect at the Kumasi Cultural Center today at 12 pm was stormed and stopped by the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator accompanied by the Ghana Police department; Operation Calm Life.

The Chairman of Movement for Bawumia, Mr Duncan Opoku Boateng a.k.a Bombey in an interview with the press said, the presser was intended to eulogized Dr Kwaku Oteng for suspending Captain Smart over his derogatory comments against the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He said the action of the National Security was unfortunate and an attempt to intimidate the movement from organising further activities for Dr. Bawumia.

He alleged that some unscrupulous opponents might have incited the Security to halt the press conference.

However, the Movement will never relent on its efforts to rally behind the Vice President in his quest to vie for the New Patriotic Party's flagbearership contest in 2024.
Mr Bombay has been picked up by the security for interrogations.
