Nations Football Club have confirmed they will not appeal the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee’s ruling that penalized them for abandoning their Ghana Premier League clash against Basake Holy Stars.
The controversial match, which took place in the penultimate round of the 2024/25 season, saw Nations FC walk off the pitch in the first half while trailing 1-0 after conceding a second penalty. The club cited safety and security concerns for their actions.
Following investigations, the GFA Disciplinary Committee found Nations FC guilty of breaching league regulations and awarded a 3-0 win to Holy Stars, while also deducting three points from Nations FC’s total and imposing a GHC 2,500 fine.
As a result, Nations FC dropped to fifth place in the final Ghana Premier League standings, finishing behind Bibiani GoldStars, Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak.
In an official statement released on their X (formerly Twitter) handle, the club acknowledged the verdict with disappointment but announced they will not challenge it:
“We acknowledge the Disciplinary Committee’s decision, albeit with disappointment. While we disagree with key aspects of the ruling, we have chosen not to pursue an appeal.”
This decision effectively ends any immediate recourse for Nations FC, who will now shift focus to preparations for the 2025/26 season.
