Nations FC, who had led the Ghana Premier League title race for much of the season, saw their dreams shattered on the final day with a shock 2-0 home defeat to Heart of Lions at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Goals from Samuel Boamah Quansah in the 18th minute and Asante Sedorf in the 72nd gave the visitors a deserved victory and dealt a devastating blow to Nations’ championship aspirations.
Despite an impressive and consistent campaign, the loss meant Nations FC had to settle for second place, narrowly missing out on the title to Gold Stars FC.
The club now turns its attention to a pending judicial decision that could influence the final standings, but for now, the celebrations belong to the new champions while Nations are left to reflect on a dramatic and heartbreaking end to their season.
