Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has expressed satisfaction with the 2016 campaign of his party, saying it will deliver victory on December 7.

“This is the best campaign I have ever experienced in my life,” Mr Mahama, who is contesting for the presidency for the second time, declared at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the Greater Accra Region’s final rally was held, on Monday, December 5.

President Mahama paid tribute to the “selfless” volunteers, whom he revealed moved from village to village “just to send the message of our party to the people”.

He said this year’s campaign for power, which could be his last, has seen the party “cover every blade of grass”.

He averred that every nook and cranny of the country has been visited by the party’s campaign volunteers.

“We have not been complacent on the campaign trail,” he indicated. “We have fought this election as if we are in opposition.”

He said the volunteers have their work cut out for them as the NDC government has achieved loads to justify the campaign messages.

He described the current disposition of the NDC as “most united”, “most committed”, “most brotherly” and “most beautiful” of all political parties in the country, a disposition that would make a stable government, he insinuated.

He dispelled fears of Ghanaians in the run-up to the elections as regards the pockets of pre-election violence being recorded, assuring that he will not be a president whose turn violence followed an election.

“Ghana shall survive the elections of 2016 and Ghana shall continue to be peaceful.” He appealed to Ghanaians to give him a second tenure for a continuation of what have been done in the past four years.

“I place my destiny in your hands and I place my destiny in the hands of God and the Ghanaian people,” he said, claiming victory in the country’s seventh election under the Fourth Republic.
