The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reported himself to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

He was accompanied by some executives of the party as well as Lawyer Tony Lithur and former Attorney General in the erstwhile Mahama administration, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo has been invited by the CID to answer questions in relation to a leaked audio recording alleged to be his voice and issues that have been raised in it.

The voice on the leaked tape among other things allegedly charged members to attack the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa and the Chairman of the Peace Council, Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante.

Earlier reports indicated that some supporters of the party had planned to mass up at the Police Headquarters to make sure their party National Chairman was not detained.

However, according to Peace FM's Yaw Obeng Manu, even though the police have put measures in place to forestall any disturbance, the supporters are not in sight.
