Controversial Movie producer, Socrates Safo has claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is lying its way to retain power ahead of the December 7 general elections.

According to him, the ruling party has “mastered the craft of lying” thus will need a formidable opposition political party to counter their vile propaganda with evidence.

The movie producer who has endorsed the candidature of the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes the party must beef up their communications strategy to match the NDC boot-for-boot.

“The person is in power and is lying his way to retain power so counter him to prove his is lying,” he stressed.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Socrates Safo could not fathom why President John Mahama wants to be praised for infrastructural projects when in fact he had described it an exercise in mediocrity when the ministers’ erstwhile Kufuor administration were doing same.

“I don’t blame him [Mahama] because he says Ghanaians have short memory and NPP communicators are not being smart on this”, he bemoaned.

Mr. Safo, who is also a member of Creative Arts for Change (CAfC), and believe the three-time flagbearer is better placed to serve the interest of Ghanaians and the creative arts industry as a whole called on the NPP’s communications team to learn to be proactive for a secured victory.

But in a rebuttal, musician, Rex Omar who has also declared support for President Mahama thanked Socrates for putting government on its toes.

He maintained that, the living standard of Ghanaians has improved under the able leadership the President who has the spirit of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in him.

“Mahama has not turned Ghana into heaven but we have invested heavily in all sectors for accelerated development” the musician added.

Rex Omar appealed to Ghanaians to vote massively for the NDC to continue the Changing Lives, Transforming Ghana agenda.
