National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu will be contesting the internal elections unopposed.

The Minority Leader in Parliament was the only person who picked his form in the Tamale South Constituency to contest in the 2020 general elections.

Mr Iddrisu who is in his fourth term in Parliament may be on his way to securing another win pending the outcome of the 2020 Parliamentary elections.

The former Minister of Communications has been in Parliament since 2005.

Deadline for the picking of nomination forms ended on July, 12, 2019.

Meanwhile, filing of nominations and vetting would be conducted on the 18th – 19th of July 2019 and 24th – 25th July 2019, respectively.

The NDC has slated August 24, 2019, for its parliamentary primaries.
