Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has stated that when the NDC comes to power in 2020, the annual June 4 celebration will be observed nationally.

His comments come up when the party observed a durbar to commemorate the event at Madina.

Mr Anyidoho added that the revolution that led to the overthrow of the Supreme Military Council II (SMC II) which was running the country in a corrupt state 39 years ago has had a great impact on the country.

The event which was led by Jerry John Rawlings, the former President of Ghana took power from the military regime and handed it to a civilian government led by Hilla Limann, the only President in the 3rd Republic.

Mr Anyidoho said, on Neat FM an Accra based radio station “Anybody who believes in the NDC cannot turn their back on June 4. Its part of our history, not only in the history of the NDC but the history of this country, Ghana,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning.
