Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the former Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament, has responded to criticisms from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the Suame Interchange project, accusing the opposition party of using the issue as a political tool to win votes.
The honourable further emphasized that the NDC's criticisms were merely part of their electioneering strategy and lacked any genuine concern for the country's development.
The Suame Interchange, a significant infrastructure project aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in Kumasi, has been praised by many for its potential to boost economic activities in the region.
However, the NDC has raised concerns over the pace and execution of the project, claiming that the current administration has not done enough to ensure its timely completion.
In his remarks, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu pointed out that while the NDC was quick to criticize, they failed to offer any practical solutions or acknowledge the progress that had already been made.
He further accused the opposition party of attempting to discredit the government's development efforts in a bid to sway voters ahead of the upcoming elections.
He stressed that the NPP, under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, is committed to delivering on its development promises and that the Suame Interchange is a testament to the party's focus on infrastructure and national progress. He urged Ghanaians to disregard politically motivated criticisms and trust in the government's vision for the future.
