Spanish-born Ghanaian winger Nico Williams has been handed a place among Spain's 26-man squad list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Nico Williams who is the younger brother of Inaki Williams chose to represent Spain where he was born.

In contrast, his senior brother who Spain overlooked after one cap has now decided to play for Ghana and played for Ghana in friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.

Nico Williams made his debut in Spain's 2-1 loss against Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League before providing the assist for Alvaro Morata's winner against Portugal in the UEFA Nations League game.

The 19 year old will play for Spain  at the World Cup which will effectively extinguish any future dream of playing for Ghana.
