It was a Williams affair on Saturday night as Inaki and Nico Williams scored to give their side Athletico Bilbao a 3-2 win over a spirited Rayo Vallecano side.

The visitors Rayo got off to a great start at the San Mamés Stadium as just five minutes into the game, Argentine Óscar Trejo opened the scoring.

But the home team reacted quickly as Iñaki Williams received a long ball from Dani Garcia and the forward lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 1-1.

In the 28th minute, Berenguer made a good move down the left and crossed to the edge of the area, where Oihan Sancet got free and turned home to make it 2-1 for the host.

Nuñez sent a good cross the way of  Nico Williams, who beat the opposing defender with speed before curling home to make it 3-1 and scored his first goal since his Spain call up.

In the second half, Rayo went up against Athletic Bilbao to try to reverse the score. In the 18th minute, Camello had a goal disallowed for offside. The Basque team defended as best they could, but the experienced Radamel “Falcão” García received a cross in the area and scored the visitors’ second goal for a nervy 3-2 finsih
