The interim coach of the Super Green Eagles Augustine Eguavoen is expected to cut down the size of his squad for the two legged clash against Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play off.

Eguavoen on March 4 this year announced a 25 man squad to face Ghana with 7 others on the stand by list for the two games but he is expected to cut down the numbers.

He is expected to exclude two players from the 25 man squad but he will have to consider the injury situation with the likes of Joe Aribo among others injury doubts for the clash.

If things do not change with the 25 man squad he may be forced to dip into the seven players on the stand by list.

Ghana were due to host their West African neighbours at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25, but the venue has been changed following an inspection by the CAF team who deemed the facility unfit to host a World Cup qualifier.

After which the second leg will come off four days later at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja with the winner qualifying for the 2022 World Cup later this year in Qatar.

The players are expected to arrive in Africa's most populous nation by Sunday 20th March 2022 for preparations to start before they travel to Ghana on 23rd March.
