Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan says that no player will depart the Ghana Premier League for greener pastures if they were to be paid even GHC5,000 per month.

Poverty has been the basis for most overseas travels by players in the Ghana Premier League as most players are under paid or handed meagre salaries.

He says that players in the domestic league go through hell in other to survive as their salaries are nothing to write home about.

According to the Hearts of Oak center back if they are paid GHC5,000 as monthly salary, they can spend GHC2,000 and save the remaining GHC3,000.

"Let's be honest to ourselves, if a Ghana Premier League player earns Ghs5000 monthly, no player will leave the country. Because of the suffering we go through, a typical Ghanaian player will be able spend Ghs2000 and save Ghs3000 and that can do a lot" Mo Alhassan told Angel TV in an interview.

Most players in the Ghana Premier League will take the least offer that even comes from Togo since they are on meagre salaries or are not even paid salaries by their club owners.

The defender played 30 matches in the Ghana Premier League and helped Hearts retain the MTN FA Cup title.
