Mr. Bice Obour Osei Kuffour, the Managing Director of Ghana Post, has expressed his desire to run for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Asante Akyem South seat again.

In June 2020, Obour lost his ambition to become the NPP's parliamentary candidate for Asante Akyem South after losing the primary to the incumbent MP, Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng.

When he announced his intention to run again, Obour indicated that he would prioritize hard work, especially when it comes to providing the youth in the area with employment prospects. He said he is intended to use his wide networks to advocate for development projects and train young people in skills.

Obour who will be picking the nomination forms on Wednesday, December 20,  stated that he is dedicated to supporting his party, the NPP, in breaking the eight.

He said "it's unacceptable for the NDC to perform better than us in our stronghold, and that I will make a variety of contributions to help the NPP win more votes in Asante Akyem South."

Obour expressed concern that the NPP is consistently losing the constituency's votes to the NDC and expressed that he cannot wait for the same thing to occur in the 2024 election which he described as "crucial".

Obour stated that the current MP after serving for 3 consecutive terms has little to show for his efforts. He stated that it is time for him to step in and bring progress to the deserving citizens of Asante Akyem.

He urged the delegates to back him once more because, as in his opinion, he is capable of boosting the NPP's vote and bring developments to the constituency.

The NPP has announced the final leg of its internal election to elect parliamentary candidates (PCs) in constituencies where the party has sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
