Acting chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Freddy Blay, has picked nomination forms to contest the chairmanship race of the party.

Mr Blay was at the party’s Asylum Down headquarters on Thursday May 10 for the forms in order to get the nod to become substantive chairman.

He has been acting since the suspension of Mr Paul Afoko by the party’s disciplinary committee for working against the interest of the party.

Meanwhile, aspiring National Chairman of the party, Fred Amankwah Sarfo, has withdrawn from the race for the chair slot. Mr Sarfo made the announcement on Thursday in an interview with Class91.3FM’s Ekow Annan.

He, however, debunked assertions that he was made to pull out of the race.

Today, Thursday, 10 May is the deadline for picking nomination forms.

Mr Stephen Ayensu Ntim, Mr. Freddie Blay, Alhaji Abubakar Rahaman a. k.a Alhaji Short and Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, have announced their intention to contest the chair slot.
