An amended constitution by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been unveiled on Tuesday, 16 January 2018, in Accra.

The amendment of the constitution comes after  the NPP, held an extraordinary delegates' conference in Kumasi on December 17, 2017 to deliberate on proposals and recommendations they received from party members.

The NPP prior to the extraordinary delegates conference last year held a series of delegates' conference in a bid to strengthen its constitution for better administration of party.

Speaking to the media, the Acting General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, who unveiled the amended constitution said it paves the way for the commencement of internal elections in the party which has been scheduled for January 17, 2018.

According to him, the amendment process was a huge success and admonished party members to consider the new constitution as they embark on their internal elections.
