The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has settled on 25 April 2020, as date to hold parliamentary primaries in all the constituencies where the party has sitting Members of Parliament to elect its parliamentary candidates for the 2020 general elections.

Members of the party including incumbent MPs who have the interest to serve their constituencies have since been filing their nominations forms.

The latest to file nomination forms for the Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region is Reindolf Mark Tetteh

Mark Tetteh, affectionately called TT, speaking to the media after filing his nomination on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, said he has availed himself to contest the incumbent MP for the area following a call from the grassroots.

So far three other persons are also lacing their boots to battle the Incumbent MP, Samuel Ayeh-Paye, in the upcoming primaries.

According to 'TT', the incumbent MP for the constituency have failed to understand the feelings of the people in the sector of education.

TT says, as a native of the area, he has identified education as a major problem confronting the area and wants to step in to make a difference.

He added that he supported Ayeh-Paye financially as a patron of the party in the 2012 elections but thinks he must step in to get the area out of their fortunes, adding that the incumbent has failed to live up to expectations.

According to him, the grassroots are yearning for a change and have intended to vote against the party should the incumbent continue to lead them and that, he being a born bread party member want to savour the constituency and the party at large.

“The MP has led the constituency for three consecutive times and I think it is about time we change the direction of the area. The writings are clear on the wall that the people need a change and me being a grassroots person, I have availed myself to help my community and the country as well” he said.

“My motive is to help improve education and also take the welfare of the people will be paramount to him. I will develop the area because Ayensuano is far behind in terms of development” he added.

He added that it is time for delegates to elect someone who understands the feelings of the people and can best solve their problems, saying he is a patron for the party is the right man to lead them.

He said, his people have been marginalized and for that matter, calling on delegates to vote for him to lead them for the upcoming 2020 elections in his quest to improve the constituency in terms of education, welfare and development.
