The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper West Region has indefinitely suspended its Wa Central Women’s Organiser, Takora Attawa.
The action according to the party is due to consistent gross misconduct, violating Articles 3(5) (a)(2) of the NPP constitution.
The suspension was announced in a statement signed by the Constituency Secretary, Mumuni Abass Sidik, emphasising the importance of loyalty, discipline, and unity.
Madam Attawa has been asked to refrain from holding herself as the Constituency Women Organiser, pending an investigation into her conduct.
“This decision is made in accordance with Article 3(7)(1) of the NPP Constitution, which empowers the Constituency Executive Committee to suspend any officer who misconduct him/herself or shows intransigence pending an enquiry by the disciplinary committee,” the statement reads in part.
The statement has also asked Takora Attawa, to reflect on her actions and consider the impact they have had on the party.
