National Sports Authority boss, Robert  Sarfo Mensah has heaped praise on head coach of Ghana's Under 17 team for not limiting his team selection only to Accra and its environs.

Appearing on GTV Sports+ show, the NSA boss commended coach Paa Kwesi Fabian for penetrating remote areas within Ghana to discover talents such as skipper of the side Eric Ayiah.

"One thing that fascinated me when I went to Gabon was that most of the players are from the rural areas." He said

"For instance the captain Ayiah was identified from a rural area in the Ashanti region. He was identified when they had their justify at Opoku Ware... he is from a very rural secondary school. That's where he was picked from"

"So I doff off my hat for coach Paa Kwesi Fabian and his team for the work that they did by going round the whole country to identify talents" he continued to lavish praise on the coach

He also challenged stakeholders of all other sporting disciplines in the country to take a cue from the coach and search every part of the country when scouting for talents for their various disciplines.

"This is what we expect from other disciplines. Thy should go round the whole country to search for talents and not limit everything to only Accra"

"Dont send a boxing team,a basketball team or a soft ball team to the US to go and compete and all the players are from only Accra" he said

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian led the Black Starlets to win silver in the most recent Under 17 AFCON tournament in Gabon.
