The National Sports Authority (NSA), has condemned football fans, who threw sachet water and stones onto the pitch, during the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederations Cup competition match, between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Al Hilal of Sudan, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday.

A statement signed by Mr. Charles Obeng Amofah, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the NSA, said, “the Authority is unhappy with the behaviour of some of the fans, who at a point threw all manner of items onto the pitch.

“We wish to caution fans on this unacceptable behaviour and to make it clear that any such acts would not be countenance in the future. We also urge the leadership of our beloved clubs to step-up the education of their supporters with regards to their comportment during matches of this nature in order to avoid certain sanctions against the clubs,” it added.

The statement however expressed the hope that, Kotoko would advance to the next stage of the competition, despite their inability to beat Al Hilal of Sudan, last Sunday.

“There is no doubt in our minds that Kotoko can put up a good fighting spirit in the upcoming encounter with Zesco United of Zambia next Sunday to secure qualification,” it added.
