The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Nurudeen Amadu as the Head Coach of the newly formed male U18 National Team, in line with the association's developmental strategy.

The establishment of age category developmental teams aims to groom youth players seamlessly for future participation in competitive male and female national teams, with the U18 male team being a key component of this initiative.

Amadu, the current Head Coach of FC Samartex 1996, a leading team in the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League, has been selected by the GFA's Executive Council for this role.

With extensive experience as a development coach, Amadu previously served as Assistant Coach for the Ghana U-17 team under Paa Kwesi Fabin in 2014.

He has also held coaching positions at Aduana Football Club and King Faisal Babies FC in the Ghana Premier League.

Assisting Amadu will be Hamza Mohammed Obeng, the Head Coach of Vision FC, and James Nanor, a former national star who will serve as Goalkeepers' Coach.

Hamza Obeng, known for his dynamic coaching approach, previously worked as an assistant to Samuel Boadu during their successful tenure at Hearts of Oak in 2021, where they secured both the Premier League and the FA Cup titles.

James Nanor, a legend at Hearts of Oak, brings a wealth of experience, having won six Premier League titles and two FA Cups during his playing career at the club.

These appointments align with the GFA's developmental strategy outlined in the Ghana Football Philosophy (DNA).

Amadu and his coaching team are tasked with adding significant value to players within the U18 team, preparing them for advancement to older age category teams for further development.
