Coach Nii Odartey Lamptey has resigned from Elmina Sharks, just  two months after taking interim  charge of the club.

The former national  star announced  his exit on Wednesday, citing personal reasons, according Ahomka FM reports.

The 46-year old replaced Yaw Acheampong, who left the club in February 2021 to join Medeama.

Sharks had been floundering in the League until Lamptey took over.

His resignation was unexpected as he had began putting things on shape for the central regional club in the struggle for a place in the 2020/21 premier league.

Under Odartey Lamptey, Elmina Sharks played 4 matches, winning 3 (Kotoko, Dwarfs and WAFA) and a defeat against Liberty.

He will have his last training session with the team tomorrow. This means the former Ghana star will not be in the dugout for the club when they travel to Dormaa to battle struggling Aduana Stars.
