Kumasi Asante Kotoko have now officially announced that they have parted ways with their Norwegian trainer Kjetil Zachariasen after days of stand off.

The Norwegian was in charge of the Kumasi based club for just four months after penning a three year deal but the club's management have now confirmed Wednesday that they have terminated the contract of the coach after a thoughtful meeting.

"Management has terminated the contract with Norwegian Coach, Kjetil Zachariassen after a meeting at the club secretariat in Kumasi today," a statement of the club's Twitter handle read.

The coach's job was always on the line after he supervised two eliminations from Caf inter club competitions first from the Champions league at the hands of African giants Etoile du Sahel.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the limp elimination to little known Ivorian side San Pedro Fc.

After the team's elimination the Norwegian failed to travel with the team instead going AWOL and citing management's refusal to guarantee his safety back home as his reasons.

He arrived from Ivory Coast over the weekend and has been in discussions with the club's hierarchy over his severance package.

Zachariasen replaced current assistant coach of the Black Stars C.K Akunnor despite Akunnor winning the NC special cup and qualifying the club to the Champions league.

The revolving door policy on coaches at Kotoko has opened once again but who will enter next as his replacement.
