The Black Stars will play a friendly against Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday.

This latest development comes after, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) called off Ghana's back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with Sierra Leone.

The governing body said the matches were  cancelled because Sierra Leone did not meet conditions aimed at lifting the Fifa-imposed suspension of the country's FA.

“The Black Stars will play Asante Kotoko in a friendly match on Friday, October 12, at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi. Kick off time will be 4pm” a statement on the GFA website from the committee confirmed

“As a sign of patriotism, the Black Stars players have indicated their willingness to show their love and appreciation for the fans and will play the Kotoko game free of charge.”
