Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare has completed a transfer to Belgian top-flight side Royal Antwerp on a free-transfer ahead of the 2018/2019 European season.

He penned a two-year contract with the club after successfully passing a medical on Wednesday.

Opare has endured a difficult last few months after Bundesliga side Augsburg terminated his contract in February for holding talks with Schalke 04.

The 27 year old who became a free agent on June 30 when his contract with the German club expired looks to have found a new home.

Opare has been linked to the likes of Besiktas, FC Schalke 04, Leicester City and Celtic in recent months.
