Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have appointed Ignatius Osei-Fosu as their new head coach effective immediately.

This comes after the club officially announced the departure of former coaches Yaw Acheampong and Yaw Preko who left their role after a disappointing campaign.

The young gaffer has signed a three year contract that will keep him with the Tarkwa based side till August 2024.

Medeama finished fifth following what started as a promising campaign at the start of the 2020/2021 season and they would want to correct the wrongs of the past with their new coach.

Ignatius Osei-Fosu has been touted as one of the best young tacticians on the local scene but this will be his first break with a big side after serving as assistant coach briefly and acting coach at Liberty Professionals before moving to Techiman Eleven Wonders.

At Eleven Wonders, he helped the club escape relegation in the 2020/2021 season after what was a very difficult campaign which saw his side finish 12th.

He has been tasked to build a winsome side that is capable of competing at the top echelons of the Ghana Premier League and also competing in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Osei-Fosu will be assisted by former coach of Kumasi Sports Academy who was also a Physical Education teacher at Prempeh College.

Medeama finished 5th in the Ghana Premier League while they also reached the semi finals of the MTN FA Cup competition.

The club hope that the young tactician will lead them to the promised land next season.
