A 17-year-old boy, whose name has only been given as Jerry, has been killed in a fire outbreak at Atonsu Bokuro in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The fire incident, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, also destroyed several properties.

Accra-based Citi News reported that Jerry was asleep when the fire gutted one of the rooms.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) managed to bring the fire under control.

However, the Asokwa Municipal Fire Commander, Bernard Nyemi-Tei, revealed that firefighters encountered difficulty accessing the building.

The body of the deceased was conveyed to the mortuary by the Ghana Police Service.
